The Paleobiology Database

The Paleobiology Database provides paleobiological literature and taxonomic and stratigraphic information about fossil plants and animals. The site archives 17 downloadable taxon-centered databases, ranging from protozoa to mammals. Users have access to data in separate categories such as collection records, classification, stratigraphy, and publications. Geographic distribution records for taxa and strata can be plotted on annotated maps that also show contemporary sea/land boundaries. The site is open to updating by users who join its contributors' group.
